Maintain a simple hair style

When you go to a salon, you want to get a cut and style that compliments your looks. Just make sure it will be easy to maintain later on.  Most women leave hair salons with styles they can’t manage afterwards. No matter how much they try, they just can’t duplicate what their beautician did.  Frustration sets in, and you eventually end up fussing over your hair more than you should. Keep those cuts and styles simple for an easy get-up and go look.

These days there are infinite numbers of products available for hair care and styling. They all promise to make your hair healthier and more manageable. Hair sprays and gels give the promise of a long lasting look to your style. But do they save you time or effort when dealing with your hair? Not really.  Sure your hair will look great, but over processed hair can end up dry, brittle or oily looking. It means having to wash and condition hair more often.

Skip the use of hot irons and blow dryers

Over time, blow dryers and the use of various hot tools can damage your hair.  Damaged and burned hair is a major complaint at beauty salons.  To fix the damage, either additional haircuts are needed or other hair treatments. Letting hair dry naturally is a time saver when getting ready. And your hair doesn’t burn out from too much heat on the head.  Curling irons make great styles but using them can be cumbersome. It can take hours to curl a whole head of hair depending on how long your hair is.  Instead, try braiding hair or putting it up in a twisted bun for a few minutes. Then take the hair down. You’ll get beautiful waves or curls without all the fuss.

Change the way you wash your hair

Some women like to wash their hair daily. It takes time and effort.  It can add an additional 20 minutes to a shower.  Unless you are using a lot of chemicals in your hair regularly, there is no need to wash hair daily. In fact, most women can get away with washing once or twice a week.  Try using a dry shampoo or even a few sprinkles of baking soda on your hair.  It can save time and money.
